When I joined the UP Palaris Confraternity-Baguio Chapter last November 18, 1989, I earned the moniker “Senti Queen” a few months later.
I really didn’t know why back then. I was not that “sentimental” per se so I asked myself… Was it due to my choice of music (puro love songs na nga, Tagalog pa)??? Was it because I was the very first member to post a “thank you” card on our bulletin board, thanking my “masters” after just hours of a grueling final initiation that left my legs black and blue? Or was it because I decided to “preserve” the rose I received from the brods on Valentine’s Day in our logbook, covering the flower with a plastic at that??!
Though sometimes it dawned on me that it was more of a “kantiyaw” than a compliment, I was nevertheless happy because not everyone had the privilege to be called a “Queen”! Hence, I chose it to be my blog title. After all, this will be my online journal about my sentiments, comments, opinions, and feelings on matters closest to my heart.
