As of Thursday last week, the 6/49 lotto jackpot prize has hit an all-time high of P280M!

Nobody has won yet the much coveted jackpot for several draws now.  A friend and I have been placing our respective bets since last week and like the rest of the hopefuls, we are more than optimistic to have our own share of luck.

I find it amusing that Filipinos are fond of these games of luck to make their lives more comfortable.  Instant millionaires are being looked up to with greatest envy by people whose only wish in life is to hit big time without exerting the usual blood, sweat, and tears.  Many of us want to get rich, the fastest way possible.  Who wouldn’t?  Having millions of money in an instant gives one all the privileges in the world.

We admit it or not, money still talks.  I am not a hypocrite to say that I do not envy people with greater riches–material and otherwise.   But then again, being an instant millionaire is just an added bonus in life.

At the end of the day, what matters more is how we conduct ourselves and our life–with or without winning the lotto prize.
